Only a few days remain until Stephenie Meyer's novella about the character is released, but you can learn a little more about what to expect from "Bree Tanner" in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse thanks to this exclusive new featurette video called "Introducing Bree Tanner."
In the video, Jodelle Ferland and Stephenie Meyer discuss the film character in depth, revealing some of the nuances of Bree's perspective and Ferland's take on it.
Says Ferland, "Even though she’s on the bad side, she doesn’t really want to be bad, and she’s sort of forced to be." Bad side being, of course, a member of the newborn army.
Of course, even though Bree remains with the newborn army so as to avoid harm to herself, you're well aware of her peculiar fate in the story.
"It’s sad because, even though she’s on the bad side, she’s a victim," Ferland continues. "Bree’s not really given a chance. She wants to be good but nobody gives her a chance. She doesn’t know the rules, and so how can you follow rules that you don’t know? So it’s not her fault, but she gets punished anyway."
Stephenie Meyer also lauds Ferland's work in the movie, saying "she really understands the backstory for Bree that’s not actually in Eclipse. She gets this vulnerability, this person who’s waking up in a new life and who’s confused and suspicious but doesn’t know what to do except follow what she’s been told."
The featurette also presents a few new glimpses at the film, including a bit of dialogue when Bree asks Riley (Xavier Samuel) "What did you do to me?" You can also seem moments of her confusion and thirst in the video
