Kristen Stewart's stylist Tara Swennen gives gift tips for the Holidays

Red-carpet stylist to the stars, Tara Swennen styles celebs like Kristen Stewart, Lauren Conrad and Angie Harmon, and now she’s styling your holiday gifts.

Here are four style tips she thinks you need to live by this holiday season:

-- Jewelry: Costume jewelry is currently right on trend and its an easy way to give a loved one a creative and beautiful gift without breaking the bank. Of course, anything in gold, silver or encrusted with clear, red or green rhinestones is always a nice touch for the holidays, but not necessary. Try finding unique pieces at vintage stores or at chains like Banana Republic and Club Monaco that have a wonderful variety.

-- Accessories: Whether it be a satin clutch, a sequined beanie, a jeweled belt or an embellished headband, accessories are great gifts, as sizing is generally not required. Knit scarves and gloves are also safe bets during the holiday season.

-- Boots: Over-the-knee boots are extremely popular at the moment -- they create a wonderful look paired with leggings and a large oversized sweater. Ankle booties and knee boots are also great paired with hose and a festive dress. As long as you know the size, these are great gifts to give. This winter try a rich suede or soft leather in black or brown.

-- For the boys: Men are simple. I would recommend sticking to the basics: ties, gloves, sunglasses and watches. Comfort is also key, so your classic around-the-house slippers or great sweatpants or pajamas can always be useful as well.
